Jogjakarta – Kuala Lumpur Day 16

Gate B, KL Central

12:00 am

6 more hours to go, I should be checking-out and head for the airport. In looking back, the tiredness and aching after the climb to the summit of Mount Lawu, had limited my tour this time. I had not ventured up country. Maybe next time.

Transferred the photographs into the notebook. Reviewed them, later logged-on the Internet  and updated this blog. I would not be sleeping, I dared not. I did not want to miss the flight at nine in the morning.

5;00 am

Had shower. Some potato chips and hot coffee.

6:10 am

Left for the Adi Sucipto airport by taxi. Arrived at the airport about 50 minutes later, hanged around for a while at the entrance.

7:00 am

Stood in the line at the check-in counter. When done the door leading to immigration clearance had not opened yet. I looked around for a coffee shop, ordered a cuppa, sat down and logged-on the to the Internet.

8:00 am

Cleared the immigration and proceeded to the holding area. Just like Adi Sumarmo airport in Solo, Adi Sucipto is a small airport and unlike Adi Sumarmo, it is a single storey building complex. The flight was delayed about half an hour and  to kill time I did some typing.

1:05 pm Malaysia local time

Arrived at KL LCCT. Bought a bus ticket for RM 8 for a ride to KL Central which is essentially a train terminal plus station for the local rapid transit. After I bought the train ticket to Kulai on the Senandong Malam train to Singapore, I left the luggage bag at the locker and roamed around. There was quite a number of free access points here. Found a corner with power point, I sat down on the floor and in no time, got connected to the Internet.

4:00 pm

Had chicken steak at the food court. Still had not sleep since last night except some head noddings while on the bus. Found a corner behind gate A and rest.

9:30 pm

Retrieved my luggage and waited at gate B for the train.

10:20 pm

Train left for Singapore. Had dinner of what said to be Nasi Lemak (it didn’t taste like one) because it is easier to sleep with a filled stomach. Later on had a sleep that lasted just a while. The rest of the journey, I was practically alert. The air-condition was too cold for my comfort.

Jogjakarta Day 8

Jalan Parangtritis near Prawirotaman

Tuesday, 2 February, 2010

12:30 am

Extended the stay at Pulung Hotel. Went to Internet cafe to finish the remaining hours. I had too eagerly bought five coupons.

Walked out of the cafe at almost four in the morning. Life for the day had started to pick up. On my way back, the market nearby had many people probably resellers packing up their goods. They are the early starters for the day-to-day businesses.

Back at the hotel room, time to sleep now.

2:30 pm

Had lunch at the corner Warteg nearby. Then another two hours of Internet and back to hotel. I was still tired. I had not ventured out yet, probably I had been here quite a number of times before. After sunset, had another few hours online.

11:00 pm

Needs to rest early tonight because tomorrow I shall be going back to Solo.

Solo – Jogjakarta Day 7

Chairs and Table outside the room at Hotel Pulung

Monday, 1 March, 2010

8:00 am

Had breakfast and put out my still haven’t dry washings out in the sun. Just sitting for an hour and when the washings had dried, packed it and had a shower.

11:00 am

Had a good look around the hotel room making sure nothing’s left behind, locked the room and checked-out. Took a becak ride to Balapan Train Station. About time, train was about to leave for Jogjakarta in a few minutes.

1:00 pm

Arrived at Jogja Tugu Station. Ride took about a little more than an hour. Bought a burger to be eaten later. Had a 15 minutes massage by a massaging chair at the station for Rp 10,000. Hanged around a while waiting for the train that blocked the path to the other side entrance/exit of the station to continue on it’s journey. Once I was out of the station, went straight to one of the food shops for lunch. Went to check the hotel with hotspot at the south end of the station. Price not right for me, so I took a becak ride to Prawirotaman. Pay Rp 60,000 for a room at Hotel Pulung with no attached bathroom. Rest.

4:00 pm

Walked around the neighbourhood to check on better deal. None can be found. Return back to hotel room. Idling around.

7:00 pm

Finished the burger bought earlier. Went out to Internet cafe. I ended up using my notebook and bought a coupon for Rp 10,000 that will last for 6 hours. After about two hours, I returned back to my hotel room.Too bad the wifi signals from the Internet cafe cannot be received back at the hotel room, since it was nearby, otherwise I wouldn’t have to go over to the cafe, could just log-in from the hotel room.
